The Osage Precisionnaires: A Small-Town Drum Corps That Dared to be Great
By Keith Richards with Scott Lee
Hailing from one of the smallest towns in North America to ever sponsor a nationally competitive drum & bugle corps, the Osage (Iowa) Precisionnaires were active from 1966-1976. This book tells the story of their rise from a ragtag group of 35 little boys into one of the top musical marching units in the drum corps world. It was an improbable journey that changed the lives of over 275 young people while making an impact that went far beyond their small Iowa town. Based on over 100 interviews with former members and others associated with the corps, and illustrated with 200 photos, this book relives the pageantry of their performances, their struggles and successes, and the incredible comradery created throughout the history of the Osage Precisionnaires.
